High-Throughput Absorption Depth Profiling in Stratum Corneum

High-throughput Tape-Stripping Platform

The service combines our high-throughput Franz Cell screening (HTS) and high-speed tape-stripping processing platform.  After the screening, tissue samples will be processed using our high-speed tape-stripping platform.  This validated innovative platform is able to process up to 72 skin circles simultaneously for any number of tape-stripping cycles.

Stratum Corneum (SC) layer is the rate-limiting barrier for skin absorption and permeation.  Tape-stripping technique is a standard method in studying kinetics and depth profiling of the absorption and permeation process through tape-strip pooling.  The release depth profiling study is particularly critical for development of pharmaceutical and personal care products that target SC layer, such as antifungals and keratolytics.

The combination of Zyleris’ first-in-class high-throughput Franz Cell technology and high-speed tape-stripping technique allows researchers to rapidly determine release depth profiles in SC layer from topical formulations.
